Concept:
The burning of incense is reminiscent of stellar evolution. The lifetime of a star involves the celestial transmutation of matter into energy in the form of heat and light. This transmutation leaves the byproduct of inert ash in its core: iron. This is not dissimilar from the humble incense stick, burning steadily while releasing light and smoke and leaving behind ash of its own.
